Moya Ridna ("my darling", "my special one" in Ukrainian) is a contemporary photography exhibition bringing together the work of Ukrainian artists living in Ukraine and abroad, including artists displaced by Russia’s full-scale invasion. The exhibition centers on intimate and individual artistic expression shaped by memory, rupture, and continuity.

At a time when Ukraine is so often represented through images of destruction, Moya Ridna deliberately turns away from the direct representation of war. This curatorial choice is not an act of omission for its own sake, but an effort to hold on to what came before: the tenderness, beauty, love, and everyday intimacy preserved in memory. By foregrounding works that do not address the full-scale invasion directly, the exhibition invites viewers to encounter Ukraine not only through the lens of loss but through the emotional and cultural realities that precede it.

In doing so, Moya Ridna offers a way of seeing Ukraine in the fullness of its lived and remembered life, helping others understand what is being defended and what is being mourned. Through this curatorial approach, the exhibition fosters a deeper engagement with contemporary Ukrainian art and affirms the significance of Ukrainian visual culture within a broader shared cultural landscape and its important contribution to the world's collective cultural treasury.
